‘After several weeks of unpredictable weather Sunday 3rd July proved to be a welcome sunny day.

Our afternoon had a celebratory feel with bunting, gazebo, a table groaning with strawberries and cream, cakes, more cakes and scones with cream and jam. There was a stream of Pimms and cups of tea. John got us organised with lawn games: he needed his tape measure for the croquet, which was followed by a game of boules, finishing with a game of French cricket.

Thanks to all those who came and the many of you who so generously contributed. A big thanks to Sue and Keith for hosting us – you really made it a very happy occasion!’
