Important – Next Meeting of All Members 22 June 2022 7.00 pm

Hello Everyone

Many thanks to those who came to the AGM meeting a couple of weeks ago. It was good for all of us to get together and begin a discussion on the future direction of the association. 

The next  meeting will be on Wednesday, 22nd June at 7.00pm, again at the Clacton Social Club, 60 – 62 Station Road almost opposite the Job Centre. This is an important meeting, so I would encourage as many of you as possible to attend and contribute to thinking about the future.

In particular I would encourage you to introduce new potential members who could play an active part in our future for many years to come. 

Please let me know if you need help with transport to come to the meeting or if you have any thoughts and ideas.

TTA Annual General Meeting 2022 – 13th April 7.00pm

This is a reminder to all members  of our AGM to take place next Wednesday, 13th April at 7pm.

It will take place at Clacton Social Club (Clacton Club), 60-62 Station Road, Clacton on Sea, CO15 1SP.

It is reached by a passageway to the left of the K1 Mobile Phone Repair Centre shop. As some of you may not know the place, Keith Hockley will kindly stand outside to guide people in.

This will be our first meeting in 3 years, so it will be an opportunity to come along and offer your ideas and talents to our association. I shall not be able to continue as chairman, so we have got a number of key roles on the committee that are vacant. We also need a treasurer, membership secretary and vice-chairman.


I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible next Wednesday.

Tendring Twinning Association AGM 2022

Following much disruption to our twinning activity over the last two years, it is time for us to hold an AGM for all members. This will be a good opportuntity to bring us all up to date. The likely date is Wednesday, 13th April 2022 at 7pm and I have already contacted members on our mailing list, so please confirm whether you can attend. At present I don’t know where we will be holding the meeting but will let you know in due course. If you need transport, we can help with that.

AGM 29th April – Update

Calling all Tendring Twinning Association members: the committee had set a date for the AGM for Wednesday, 29th April. As the news of the Coronavirus is ever-changing, it seems that this date might well be too enthusiastic.

The situation is still unclear, but we want to let you know that we are still keeping on top of things and will let you know of a postponed date if it becomes necessary at the earliest possible opportunity.

Report on the Annual General Meeting of the Tendring Twinning Association for 2017

The Chairman, Joy Phillips, welcomed twenty nine members to the 2017 AGM, held on Wednesday 3rd May.

The Minutes of the 2016 AGM were accepted and agreed.

Minor revisions to the Rules had been proposed by the committee during the previous year.  These were brought to the meeting’s attention and were agreed.  A copy is available on application via the website.

The Chairman gave an illustrated report on the Association’s activities during the year.  Further information can be found on this website for those marked *.  The main activities were:

Audited income and expenditure sheets for the periods 1 January – 31 December 2016, and 1 January – 31 March 2017 were circulated.

The Chairman outlined events planned for 2017.  Further information can be found on this website for those marked *.  The main activities are:


Following the request from members at the 2016 AGM, the committee has been attempting to strengthen the association, and a report on its conclusions had been circulated in advance of the 2017 meeting.  The key positives for the future are:

  • The new van secures the ability to take stock to the twinning markets in Biberach and Valence;
  • The Christmas market in Biberach was manned by TTA members for most days;
  • The website has been improved;
  • Several important policy documents have been written and are on the website;
  • Events for members have been arranged (see above);
  • The Chairman has been networking and making contacts with local organisations to increase membership.

Problems facing the association were also outlined, leading to a very positive debate with members about ways forward.  The committee welcomes any suggestions from members about how the association could be strengthened.
